Roselle seeking input on downtown redevelopment

The village of Roselle is hosting an open house next week to gather community feedback on the future of the downtown.

The open house will be held in village hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27.

The village is leveraging the same consultant used for its 2016 comprehensive plan to update the vision for the Village Center sub-area.

With the village and library land swap agreement and the opening of the Metro 19 apartment complex, Roselle is developing an updated Village Center plan to guide downtown redevelopment efforts, according to a village alert.

Last November, voters in the Roselle Public Library District approved its funding request for a new building on Maple Avenue. Officials last year outlined a plan for the village and library to swap their respective properties with a successful referendum result.

After collecting public input at the Aug. 27 open house, the consultant will present a draft report to the village board at a future meeting.
