Traffic safety checkpoint set for Aug. 22 in Elk Grove Village
Cook County sheriff’s deputies will team with police in Elk Grove Village and Mount Prospect to conduct a traffic safety checkpoint Friday, Aug. 22.
The checkpoint is scheduled to run from 7 p.m. until midnight near the intersection of Busse Road and Howard Street. Officers will be on the lookout for impaired driving, as well as ensuring drivers are complying with driver’s license and registration requirements, and seat belt and child safety restraint laws.
Sheriff’s officials said the aim is to emphasize roadway safety, increase seat belt usage, promote the importance of safe travel and help reduce the number of vehicle crashes in Cook County.
The checkpoint is funded through a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
