Historian to portray suffragettes in ‘Women Who Dare’ at the Glen Ellyn History Center

On Saturday, Aug. 2, historian and actress Jessica Michna will present “Women Who Dare” at 2 p.m. at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.

The Glen Ellyn Historical Society is sponsoring this program that tells the stories of Cristabel and Emmeline Pankhurst, Susan B. Anthony, Emma Davisson, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.

Learn about these and other women (and men) who championed the cause of women’s suffrage in this country and overseas in the late 19th and early 20th century.

She will talk about the protests, jailings, victories and defeats culminating with the signature of President Woodrow Wilson that would give women the right to vote.
