Lombard Historical Society hosting Victorian-themed garden party
The Lombard Historical Society invites you to a Victorian Garden Tea Party on Saturday, July 26.
Enjoy summery refreshments, Victorian inspired games and crafts at this traditional Victorian occasion from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the William J. Mueller Gazebo at 23 W. Maple St. in Lombard.
This event is best suited for adults ages 8 and up. Tickets are $18, $8 for age 12 or under, or $15 for members. Tickets are required and available at LombardHistory.org.
The Lombard Historical Society is opening the doors wide to welcome our neighbors to a garden party. Join in this family-friendly afternoon filled with tea, treats, and timeless charm. Experience the lovely garden, enjoy traditional tea party refreshments and there will even be a sundae bar!
Try your hand at floral arranging, decorating a fan, creating your own paper teacup, or take a swing at the Victorian sport of croquet. The Victorian Cottage will be open for self-guided tours.
Saunter over and meet some new friends. Call a friend you haven’t seen in a while, a new neighbor, or your darling granddaughter, and join us at the Victorian Cottage for a charming garden party on the grounds of the Lombard Historical Society.
Come dressed in your garden party best. Don’t forget your sun hat!
The Lombard Historical Society encourages visitors to delve into the past through interactive exhibitions, educational programming, and gaining insights from the historical society’s collections. It is committed to the preservation, interpretation, and celebration of Lombard's past, inspiring a vibrant and inclusive future.
The historical society operates the Victorian Cottage Museum, the Carriage House, and the society’s archives at 23 W. Maple St. They also manage the Sheldon Peck Homestead, a National Park Service Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Site, located at 355 E. Parkside Ave. in Lombard.
The Sheldon Peck Homestead offers tours and activities on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. The Victorian Cottage Museum is open for tours on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. The Carriage House Exhibitions and the Lilac Emporium Gift Shop are open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
