Genealogy and artificial intelligence to be focus of Aug. 24, Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois hybrid event in Northbrook
Scott Meyer will share some of the latest artificial intelligence tools in the Jewish genealogical tool belt and the ethical concerns they raise when he presents “AI and Jewish Genealogy: New Tools, New Concerns” for the Sunday, Aug. 24, Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois hybrid meeting.

Scott Meyer is a past president and current board member of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois, who has spoken on Jewish genealogy for more than 40 years. He served as associate editor of Search: International Journal for Researchers of Jewish Genealogy; coeditor of the North America section of the “Encyclopedia of Jewish Genealogy”; and consulting editor of “A Translation Guide to 19th-century Polish-Language Civil-Registration Documents” by Judith R. Frazin; and has authored numerous articles for Morasha, the award-winning newsletter of JGSI.
The JGSI meeting facilities at Temple Beth-El, 3610 Dundee Road, Northbrook, will open at 12:30 p.m. for those who want to use genealogy library materials, get help with family history websites or ask genealogical questions before the main hybrid program begins at 2 p.m.
