Enjoy rides, music and more at Vernon Hills Days July 17-20

Get ready for carnival rides, food, live music and more as Vernon Hills Days returns Thursday through Sunday, July 17-20, in Century Park, 1002 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills.

Free live musical performances include Too Hype Crew on Thursday; Starlight City and Switchfoot on Friday; Heart to Heartbreaker and Tommy DeCarlo, former lead singer of Boston, on Saturday; and Modern Day Romeos on Sunday.

Carnival hours will be 6-10 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 1-10 p.m. Saturday and 2-7 p.m. Sunday. Sensory friendly “Flower Hours” will be offered from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday and 1-2 p.m. Sunday, during which the carnival will be free to those with special or sensory needs. Those accompanying them will be able to purchase a wristband for $10.

Wristband specials will be available for $35 on Thursday, $40 on Friday, $30 from 1-5 p.m. and $40 for 6-10 p.m. Saturday, and $35 from 2-7 p.m. Sunday. Carnival tickets are $1 each, or 44 for $40.

A free bags tournament will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Rules and registration are available at vhdays.com/bags-tourney.

Kid-friendly fun will be offered under the big tent from 1-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, including kids crafts, face painting and a kids game show and fun with A-Z Entertainment, plus a petting zoo on Sunday only.

Food vendors scheduled to participate include Frosty Dogs, Flavor Frenzy, Tamales Diana, Up In Smoke, Wow Jusi, Blackhawk BBQ and Windsor Ice Cream, Kona Ice, Flynn D City Grub, Lee Concessions, No Manches, Antioch Pizza, Barones, Teriyaki Madness, Hitz Pizza, and Genoa Italian.
