Wadsworth man charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon
A Wadsworth man who authorities said fled after threatening two people with a knife Wednesday was apprehended with the help of Lake County Sheriff's Office police dogs.
According to the sheriff's office, Joshua W. Marksberry, 39, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated assault after pulling a knife on one person and threatening to slit the throat of another person at a home on the 15900 block of Wadsworth Road.
Deputies responded to the home about 9:40 a.m. on a report of an aggravated assault but Marksberry already had fled on foot, according to the sheriff's office.
A person matching his description was seen about 8:30 p.m. in the area of Wadsworth and Dilleys roads. Canine officer Hemi led deputies toward a tent in a wooded area and Marksberry was taken into custody without issue, according to the sheriff's office.
He was held in Lake County jail pending an initial court hearing Thursday morning.
Marksberry had been convicted several years ago in a negotiated plea of aggravated battery with a dangerous instrument for a stabbing in the Lake Villa area, according to the sheriff’s office.
