Glen Ellyn history program sheds light on Teddy Roosevelt’s western adventures

The Glen Ellyn History Center is hosting the program, “Forging a President: How the Wild West Created Teddy Roosevelt” on Saturday, June 14.

The years Roosevelt spent out West after his wife and mother died on the same day in his life are explored by author and storyteller William Hazelgrove.

The program will begin at 2 p.m. in the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St. The audience will learn how Roosevelt’s life, adventures and attitudes prepared him for his future as President of the United States.

Admission is $10 or free for historical society members or kids under age 18. For information, call (630) 469-1867 and check the website at gehs.org.
