Fox River Trolley Museum hosts classic car show for Father’s Day

The Fox River Trolley Museum is hosting its first Classic Car & Tractor Show on Father’s Day. It will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the museum, 365 S. La Fox St. (Route 31) in South Elgin.

They are bringing together two kinds of classics: beautifully restored cars and our historic electric trolleys running on rails that date back to 1896. It’s a day where the past comes alive; on wheels and on rails.

Pinups and Greasers, put on your best 1950s attire and see if you’ve got what it takes to be crowned Queen & King of the Car Show. They will have pageant-style prizes, $100 for first place and $50 for second and third place.

Live music from “Elvis” Joe Tirrito keeps things rockin’ from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and of course, trolley rides will be running all day.

Dads ride free with at least one paying rider, and all riders can vote on their favorite vehicle in the show.

Tickets are $8; $6 for age 65 or older and first responders, active military or veterans; $5 for children, ages 3-11. It is free for age 2 or under.

To register, email info@foxtrolley.org. Visit foxtrolley.org.

Classic cars. Historic trains. A day for dads and anyone who loves a little vintage fun.
