Mount Prospect holding public meeting to discuss safety at Central Road railroad crossing

Mount Prospect is holding a public information meeting Thursday evening to discuss the Central Road Railroad Crossing Phase I Study.

The study aims at improving safety and mobility at the Central Road railroad crossing and the intersection of Central Road and Northwest Highway.

The session, scheduled from 5-7 p.m. in the Farley Community Room on the first floor of village hall, 50 S. Emerson St., will follow an open-house format. Residents can review project displays and information and speak directly with village staff.

Residents who cannot attend Thursday's meeting will still have access to all meeting materials through the project website at www.mountprospect.org/CentralRRCrossing. The village plans to post all information online by Thursday.

The village is encouraging public feedback through several channels. Comments can be submitted in person at the meeting, through an online survey on the project website, via email to publicworksdept@mountprospect.org or by mail to the Village of Mount Prospect Public Works Department at 1700 W. Central Road.
