Dining out: Detroit-style pizza, 50-cent all-you-can-eat pancakes and more

Detroit-style is a vastly underrated genre of pizza, but diners will soon be able to enjoy it at a new spot in Bartlett. You can also head to Crystal Lake to help an iconic restaurant celebrate 50 years with all-you-can-eat pancakes for 50 cents.

Hip to be a square

Thankfully, Detroit-style pizza is becoming more popular nationally, and a familiar place in Bartlett is going to be dishing it out soon.

Atlas Chicken in Bartlett is dividing its space at 1048 Army Trail Road and dedicating half to the new Squares Pizza Pub.

The new space will be open in about a month and will feature the unique thick and square pan pizza known for its crispy edges.

If you don’t want to wait to try Detroit-native chef Blaine Jones’ creation, sister restaurant Preservation in Geneva will host an all-you-can-eat pizza night on Thursday, May 28.

Two seatings are available and reservations can be made on Tock. It’s $37 and includes a beer or glass of wine and gratuity.
