WGN9’s Around Town will be live at Conscious Cup on May 13

WGN9’s Ana Belaval and the Around Town crew will sip into the world of specialty coffee on Tuesday, May 13, during a live presentation from Conscious Cup Coffee Roasters Coffee Laboratory in Crystal Lake.

Around Town is a segment of WGN9’s Morning News that airs weekdays. The first of seven segments at Conscious Cup on May 13 is planned for 7:55 a.m.

Segments will feature presentations by co-founder Michael Shipley and principal roaster Dennis Jackson on the craft of specialty coffee roasting, coffee cupping, or how we select fine-grade coffees from around the world, and latte art and drink presentations by Shipley and Erin Gallagher, customer experience director.

Conscious Cup was founded in 2006 and currently has cafes in:

• Crystal Lake, 5005 Northwest Hwy.

• Cary, 77 W. Main St.

• Barrington, 100 E. Station St.

• Libertyville, 355 N. Milwaukee Ave.

• Palatine, 137 W. Wood St.
