Northbrook police investigating Palatine woman’s death near train tracks

Northbrook police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old Palatine woman who appears to have been struck by a Union Pacific freight train, authorities said.

The cause of the woman’s death is pending toxicology reports, according to a Cook County medical examiner’s office release.

The woman’s body was discovered late Tuesday morning near 40 Skokie Blvd., where there is no pedestrian access to the train tracks.
