Therapy dog Kayla celebrates 100th visit
The American Kennel Club will be honoring Kayla, a 7-year-old golden retriever, as an “Advanced” Therapy Dog by her achievement of 100 volunteer visits as a member of The Alliance of Therapy Dogs Association.
Kayla and her owner Jacqueline Gray live in Vernon Hills and have performed over 100 visits which include several retirement homes, high schools, first responders, community expos, libraries and senior centers.
Gray and Kayla began training as a Therapy Dog Team when Kayla was 10 weeks old and became fully certified when she was 2.
“The greatest feeling in the world is seeing the joy and love that Kayla brings to others, it’s truly amazing,” Gray said.
