Celebrating 150 years: Trinity Episcopal Church presents Music and Spoken Word Concert
Trinity Episcopal Church in Wheaton invites the community to “150 @ 130, A Celebration in Words and Music,” a special commemorative event honoring the church’s 150th anniversary.
This free celebration will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the church, 130 N. West St.
The event will feature a thoughtfully curated program of poetry, prose, and uplifting music performed by Trinity’s talented choirs alongside special guest musicians. Attendees are invited to stay for a reception after the performance.
Founded in 1875, Trinity Episcopal Church has been a cornerstone of the Wheaton community for a century and a half, and this celebration marks this significant milestone in the church’s history.
While the event is free to attend, RSVPs are highly recommended and can be made through the church’s special site at trinitywheaton.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/2871775.
In celebration of National Preservation Month, Trinity Episcopal Church also will offer free tours of its historic chapel built in 1882.
The chapel will be open to the public each weekend throughout May, featuring displays explaining the chapel’s history with member docents available to answer questions.
The historic chapel tours provide an opportunity for community members and history enthusiasts to explore one of Wheaton’s architectural treasures as the church continues its 150th anniversary celebrations.
