No injuries reported, four cats rescued from fire that damaged Schaumburg homes
No injuries were reported from a fire that damaged all four units of a quadplex house in Schaumburg Monday afternoon.
Firefighters and police received the call at 1:45 p.m. that flames were visible at the residential building at 1106 Regency Drive, Schaumburg Police Cmdr. Christy Lindhurst said.
The fire was extinguished within about 35 minutes, and at least two of the four units were declared uninhabitable, fire officials said. Four cats were rescued during the response.
The Schaumburg Fire Department concluded its investigation with the cause of the blaze officially undetermined. The pattern of the fire seemed to indicate it started on the outside, where gas meters had melted, officials said.
