Three hospitalized after Lake in the Hills crash

Three people were taken to the hospital after a car crash in Lake in the Hills on Wednesday, officials said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Algonquin Road and Lakewood Road just before 3 p.m., according to a news release from the Huntley Fire Protection District. All three cars had moderate damage, and a bystander used a fire extinguisher to put out a small engine fire before fire crews arrived.

The three people were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
