Ready to build on strengths
As a Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200 board member, it is difficult to hear the harsh criticisms and accusations from certain candidates that the board does not serve the community but serves themselves. Claims that we are controlled by special interests, unions or others, are insulting and blatantly false.
Our board is passionately focused on all 11,000-plus students in all of the work we do. Our schools are excellent and make our community a destination for young families. Still, there is much room for improvement and the current board continues to focus on improving learning outcomes.
I urge you to vote for the following four candidates. They are each committed to building on the strengths of the district, working together in a positive and constructive manner and continuing our positive momentum.
Rob Hanlon — Rob leads with empathy, compassion and a deep desire to keep our district elite. Rob was highly active with the Wheaton North Band Parents while his children were in the district schools and is deserving of another term.
John Rutledge — John has been a valuable addition to the board. He brings tremendous insight from his years in business and deeply understands the role of the board, having served for 10 years on the Wheaton City Council.
Angela Blatner — I have never questioned Angela’s heart and compassion for all our students. Angela stands by her principles and votes accordingly.
Katy Ebbesen — As a mom of four kids who attend or will attend CUSD200 schools and a resident of Warrenville, Katy represents a large segment of our population. As an attorney, she will bring balance, good listening skills and a strategic mindset to the board table.
