Hear the Duruflé’s ‘Requiem’ at Gary UMC in Wheaton

For the second Sunday in Lent on March 16, Gary United Methodist Church’s Festival Choir and Chamber Orchestra will present Maurice Duruflé’s “Requiem.”

Joshua Velez, director of music, will conduct the piece. Organist Kevin Lange will play organ for the “Requiem.” The public is invited for both presentations, the first at 9 and the second at 11:11 a.m. at the church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton. The music will fill the sanctuary as the message for the services.

The church, founded in 1853, has music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. In-between services, there’s Sunday school for all ages, a coffee fellowship hour, plus the chapel is available for prayer and reflection.
