Bartlett man charged with possession of stolen vehicle after driving it in Bloomingdale
A Bartlett man was charged Monday after police in Bloomingdale found him in possession of a stolen car, officials said.
Michael D. Baker, 52, was charged with unlawful possession of a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Bartlett.
At about 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Bartlett police officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on the 1000 block of Smoketree Lane. The owner reported his 2001 Toyota Camry had been taken while parked unlocked in the driveway with its engine running.
Bloomingdale police spotted the vehicle as it was heading toward Lombard. Officers from both departments were able to stop the car and take its driver and only occupant, later identified as Baker, into custody, officials said.
Baker was granted pretrial release; his next court appearance is scheduled for Friday morning in Rolling Meadows.
