Schaumburg man charged in Elgin shooting

A 30-year-old Schaumburg man is facing weapons charges after an investigation by Elgin police into a Dec. 26 shooting there.
No injuries were reported from the gunfire that occurred at about 5:45 p.m. on the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue.
Tuesday, Cook County prosecutors charged Lizrick Ellis with aggravated discharge of a firearm in connection with the shooting last month, police officials said.
Wednesday, Ellis was ordered held in jail to await trial.
