Chicagoland Fishing Expo returns with gear, guides, lessons

There was no creel limit on fun as the Chicagoland Fishing Expo returned to the Schaumburg Convention Center with everything fishing under one roof.

Some of the show’s highlights include fishing tackle, smaller specialty manufacturers, local tackle retail shops, boat dealers, guides and charters, local fishing clubs and taxidermists.

Sixteen-year-old Eli Sadowski, of Darien, was all smiles as he received a fly casting lesson from Darwin Adams of Grayslake at the 50-foot casting pond.

“I got a fly fishing kit for Christmas and I am excited to learn,” said Sadowski, who said he usually fishes for bass.

The show continues today until 7 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11, available online or at the convention center at 1551 N. Thoreau Drive, Schaumburg.
