Free Narcan now available at Wheaton Public Library

Wheaton has expanded access to Narcan, the lifesaving opioid overdose antidote.

A new Narcan Takeaway Box has been installed for the community’s use inside the east entrance to the Wheaton Public Library. Another box is available at the Wheaton police station.

Anyone can walk in and take a free box for their home, car or purse during library hours without needing to speak to a staff member or provide personal information.

The box has instructions explaining how to administer Narcan as a nasal spray to help someone experiencing an opioid overdose.
