Lombard Historical Society hosts ‘Feel Good February’ events

Pamper yourself this February with events hosted by the Lombard Historical Society. Take time for self-care with opportunities to celebrate Valentine’s Day like a Victorian, make your own candle, or take a yoga class in a special setting!

Reservations for all “Feel Good February” events are required as space is limited; certain events are paid. For information, visit lombardhistory.org, email info@lombardhistory.org, or call (630) 629-1885.

Virtual Victorian Tea Party

Have you ever wondered where the tradition of the white wedding dress comes from, or if Victorians had bridesmaids? What about honeymoons? Learn the answers to these questions and more by joining Rae Slowik and Kim White for a virtual Victorian Tea at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. Bring a warm beverage of your choice and a sweet treat, and enjoy a delightful conversation with friends. It is free. For an additional fee, participants can purchase a teacup and sweets.

Yoga at the Museum

Starting Feb. 15, Dr. Doris Fregoso of Jade Orchid Wellness will lead this 10-week session at 10 a.m. Saturdays, Feb. 15 to April 19, at the museum’s Carriage House. Classes start at $15 or $10 for members per class. New this session: class passes are available! Sign up for all 10 classes and get two free! You can also sign up for a single class and apply the balance toward the discounted rate. Each week will feature a different theme to inspire and rejuvenate (ex: Galentine's Glow, Heartfelt Connections, Spring Awakening, and Bloom into Balance).

Make Your Own Candle

On Friday, Feb. 21, join “Make Your Own Candle,” a 21-or-older event hosted by the Lombard Historical Society in collaboration with Sprinkle Candles. At 6 p.m., participants will create their own 8 oz. candle in a glass jar, customizable with their favorite scent, candle toppers, and a personalized label. Tickets are $40 or $35 for members. In addition to the candle, your ticket includes two drinks and light nibbles. Due to the popularity of this event and limited space, early registration is strongly recommended. Soap & Sip has sold out in the past.
