Sign up to give blood at Gary UMC in Wheaton
The community is invited to donate blood with Versiti on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton.
It will be offered from 2 to 6 p.m. in the church gym, 224 N. Main St. Sign up at garychurch.org/registrations. Walk-ins are also welcome. Get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy meal and stay hydrated before, during and after your appointment. Individuals, age 17 or older, who are in good health and not experiencing symptoms of cold or flu may donate blood. Donors who are 16 years old may donate but must have parent/guardian permission. There is no maximum age for donation. Donors must weigh at least 110 lbs. to donate.
One donation may help save up to three lives. The church’s next blood drives will be May 7, Aug. 20 and Nov. 19.
The church has music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. Gary Church offers worship at 9 and 11:11 a.m. In-between services, there’s Sunday school for all ages, a coffee fellowship hour, plus the chapel is available for prayer and reflection.
