Wheaton’s Gary UMC offers classes on mission opportunities
Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is offering a series of classes on ways to help serve in mission.
On Sunday, Jan. 12, World Relief will share how it helps with crises around the world in partnership with the church. Learn how this Christian humanitarian organization develops sustainable, locally driven solutions to some of the world’s most urgent problems.
On Sunday, Jan. 19, the church’s mission, Educate a Girl/Change the World, will share how it has supported 21 girls and young women with scholarships. Its mission to educate girls and young women is celebrating its fifth year.
The classes will be at 10:10 a.m. at the church, 224 N. Main St. The church has music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. It offers worship at 9 and 11:11 a.m. In-between services, there’s Sunday school for all ages, a coffee fellowship hour, plus the chapel is available for prayer and reflection.
