West Chicago police officer promoted to sergeant
Jonathan Jones, a lifelong West Chicago resident, reached a milestone with the West Chicago Police Department. The officer was promoted to sergeant on Dec. 3.
Jones joined the police department in March 2012 after graduating from the College of DuPage’s Suburban Law Enforcement Academy.
He served as the department’s training coordinator for the past two years.
Jones brings to the sergeant’s role experience as a field training officer and evidence technician, and as an instructor in defensive tactics, rapid deployment, CPR/AED, and OC spray, or pepper spray.
