Wauconda Township Holiday Adopt-a-Family program

The 2024 Holiday Adopt-a-Family program operated by Wauconda Township for local families in need is underway. Donors can provide gift cards or wrapped items. Walmart, Target, Jewel and Woodman’s are among the acceptable gift cards. Some restrictions apply. Sign up through Dec. 18. Contact Melissa Garcia at (847) 526-2631 for more information. Also, the Wauconda-Island Lake food pantry at 505 W. Bonner Road, behind the township office, is in need of several items including 64-ounce juice (any flavor), cereal, cooking oil, instant mashed potatoes, flour, toothpaste and more.
