Gary UMC in Wheaton to present ‘Lessons & Carols’ on Dec. 8

Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton will host a worship service like no other on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 9 and 11:11 a.m.

“Lessons & Carols” will tell the story of the birth of Jesus Christ through music and scripture. Children and adult choirs will sing, children and adult handbell groups will ring, and readers of all ages will share scripture. Churchgoers will sing hymns, pray and enjoy the music and readings.

The church at 224 N. Main St. has celebrated deep roots in the community since 1853. Gary Church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. The church offers worship at 9 and 11:11 a.m. In-between services, there’s Sunday school for all ages, a coffee fellowship hour, plus the chapel is available for prayer and reflection.
