McHenry Township home uninhabitable after fire

A fire that left a McHenry Township home uninhabitable Saturday night is under investigation.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, which occurred about 7 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Parkside Avenue.

McHenry Township Fire Protection District crews arrived within four minutes of being called to the scene to find the one-story residence engulfed in flames. Mutual aid soon brought other fire companies to the home.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes, officials said.

McHenry Township firefighters received assistance from the Fox Lake, Nunda and Crystal Lake fire departments at the scene. Fox River Grove, Antioch, Spring Grove, Richmond, Cary, Round Lake and Lake Villa fire units provided station coverage.
