Frigid temperatures could not keep Neda and Goran Veselinovic of Bloomingdale from roasting 75 pounds of chestnuts on an open fire during the outdoor Kris Kringle Market Saturday in Old Town Bloomingdale.

The Veselinovics said this was their second time roasting chestnuts and it was a family tradition they wanted to keep alive.

The event included local vendors selling food, crafts, holiday decor and wood crafts.

Kids entertainment, face painting, balloon artist, games, a beer and wine tent, and visits with Santa and Charles Dickens Carolers were among the attractions.
