Mount Prospect collecting gifts for annual toy drive

The village of Mount Prospect and its fire department are collecting new, unwrapped gifts for children up to age 17 through Dec. 6 for the annual toy drive.

Collection boxes can be found in the lobbies of village hall and all four Mount Prospect fire stations.

For older children ages 13 and above, the village recommends gift cards, hoodies, hats and gloves, skateboards, lotion and body wash sets, backpacks/duffel bags, sports-themed gifts, or jewelry and hair accessories.

The gifts will be distributed to local families facing financial hardship registered with the Mount Prospect Human Services Department.
