Tom-A-Hawk Turkey Trot to raise funds for Aurora area school districts
Join the running community for the fourth annual Tom-A-Hawk Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 23, on a flat and fast course along the Fox River in Aurora.
All proceeds benefit the Aurora East Educational Foundation and A + Foundation for West Aurora Schools in their support of students of both the East and West Aurora school districts.
This event finishes with the final straightaway across the pedestrian bridge in downtown Aurora.
Registrants will receive a commemorative long-sleeve performance shirt. The shirt will feature a design created by an art student from East or West Aurora high school.
It now features the following awards: Biggest Turkey to final finisher; traveling trophy awarded to high school with most participants; Greatest East Aurora Pride to participant in best East Aurora gear; Greatest West Aurora Pride to participant in best West Aurora gear; and Farthest Traveled to participant who has come from afar.
Cost is $35 or $25 for age 18 or younger. It also includes a finisher medal, chip-time result, and a draft beer or nonalcoholic beverage at Two Brothers Roundhouse.

On race day, the packet pickup begins at 7 a.m. in parking lot X in downtown Aurora. There will be two starts for the 5K: competitive at 8:45 a.m. or fun run at 9 a.m. The walk will be at 9:15 a.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 9:40 a.m. at Wilder Park.
Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway, will open for a post-race celebration at 10 a.m.
