Fox River Grove extends waste hauling contract

Unlimited yardwaste disposal without stickers starting in 2025

The Fox River Grove Village Board recently approved a contract extension with Lakeshore Recycling Systems to continue to serve as the village’s residential waste, recycling, and landscape waste collection service for the next five years.

The cost for these services will be $27.11 per month ($81.33 per quarter) per household beginning in February 2025. Seniors will continue to be eligible for a 38% discount versus the regular rate, with a cost of $16.81 per month ($50.43 per quarter).

Lakeshore Recycling System has provided waste hauling services to Fox River Grove residents since 2021, when it acquired Prairieland Disposal.

Village President Marc McLaughlin stated, “The village is happy to announce that LRS will continue to provide services to Fox River Grove. While price increases were necessary due to high inflation over the previous contract period (2020-25), offering our residents the ability to dispose of unlimited yardwaste without stickers is an added benefit, which will help offset the increase for many homeowners. Additionally, curbside electronic waste pickup will take place two times per year as an added service under the contract extension.”

Adjustments to services under the new contract include:

• Unlimited yardwaste pickup from April to November — no stickers required

• Free electronic waste pickup twice per year (only once under previous contract)
