Lavelle Law hosts free legal workshop for business owners
Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law will host another free seminar in its Breakfast Briefs series for business owners. The workshop, entitled, “Essential Legal Protections for Your Business,” will take place on Nov. 20 from 7:45 to 9 a.m., at 1933 N. Meacham Road, Suite 127, in Schaumburg.
In this seminar, a panel of Lavelle Law attorneys will discuss the essential strategies for protecting businesses as they approach the end of the year and plan for 2025. The attorneys will cover the importance of developing robust noncompete agreements, safeguarding trade secrets, and understanding temporary restraining orders (TROs) and injunctive relief.
Presenters will include Lavelle Law attorneys Matthew Sheahin, Jennifer Tee, and Lance Ziebell, who have extensive experience in the firm’s business, litigation, employment law, and business litigation practice groups.
“Businesses are facing an incredibly competitive landscape across industries,” claimed Sheahin. “To stay ahead, they need to take the proper legal action to ensure ownership over their intellectual property and protect trade secrets.”
Tee adds, “In some cases, losing intellectual property to a competitor can be enough to sink a business. It’s essential that businesses act fast if they suspect important company information has been leaked and set up protections for themselves so that type of activity doesn’t happen in the first place.”
Those attending the free seminar will have the opportunity to ask questions of the attorneys.
“Business owners have a lot on their plates and don’t have time to dive into the nuances of business law,” explains Ziebell. “We hope this seminar helps relieve some of the burden of running a business by offering free, practical advice on how to legally protect your company.”
A continental breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m., with the presentation beginning at 8 a.m. Full details along with registration can be found at eventbrite.com/e/essential-legal-protections-for-your-business-tickets-1055916678209?aff=oddtdtcreator. Space is limited and registration is required.
