Award-winning Hoffman Estates office building up for sale again
An architecturally award-winning building in Hoffman Estates — designed and built by mattress manufacturer Serta for office and research and development space in 2009 before being sold to dental equipment producer Planmeca a decade later — is seeking a new buyer. The 90,000-square-foot building sits on 19 acres being marketed by real estate firm NAI Hiffman on behalf of Planmeca at 2600 Forbs Ave. The asking price is $11 million.
Shuttered Heavenly Bodies strip club in Elk Grove Village to meet wrecking ball
Now that it’s held its last dance, the shuttered Heavenly Bodies strip club is due to meet the wrecking ball in the coming months as its new owner — Elk Grove Village — primes the area for redevelopment. Village trustees awarded a $299,300 contract last week to McDonagh Demolition to tear down the long-standing gentlemen’s club, along with a former Burger King restaurant and Marathon gas station the municipality also purchased on the southwest corner of Higgins and Elmhurst roads.
‘Now is the time to be in Barrington’: village serves up positive economic outlook
Barrington officials dished out a heaping helping of positivity about the village this week to an audience of brokers, developers, potential tenants, property owners and managers in an effort to promote economic growth. “Now is the time to be in Barrington,” Village President Karen Darch told the group at Tuesday’s “Be in Barrington” breakfast at the Barrington White House.

After seven years in Oak Brook, Michael Jordan’s Steak House will close its doors for good in December. The announcement came in a mailing list email and on the restaurant’s Facebook page Thursday morning.
Record-setting $5.3 million mansion sale in South Barrington
Oct. 1 was a historic day for South Barrington real estate, and for Baird & Warner’s Realtor Sammy Lubeck. Representing the buyer, Lubeck brokered a $5.3 million purchase of a home on 1.38 acres at 5 Saucer Circle. It was the highest sale price ever for a private residence in the village, Lubeck said.

A new lounge and vibrant art exhibits are among the latest efforts in the makeover of Midway International Airport. Last month, the city debuted The Club MDW, the airport’s first passenger lounge. Passengers can nest in a space accented in neutral tones with complimentary refreshments and fully equipped work stations.
