Warrenville 2024 Special Census shows population increase

The U.S. Census Bureau recently announced a population increase for the city of Warrenville following a recently completed special census.

The census, conducted to obtain an accurate count, shows that Warrenville’s population has grown by 1,642 residents, bringing the total to 15,195. This updated count makes the city eligible for increased state funding.

The additional population will result in approximately $422,000 in annual state revenue, which will help support city services such as street repairs, public safety, and other essential infrastructure improvements.

The 2020 Census recorded Warrenville’s population at 13,553. However, new residential developments, including Everton, Lexington Trace, Arden, Westlyn, and Riverview West, were not fully captured in the 2020 data. The updated population figure reflects the growth from these areas.

The revised population count from the 2024 Special Census will be officially listed with a census date of June 1, 2024.
