No room for error in this election

For the last year and a half I have gone bi-weekly to an appointment at a cancer treatment center; I am fortunate. I have treatable form of Leukemia. I have observed young and old in the waiting room. I see patients going through chemo. Cancer knows no color, religious beliefs or nationalities. Former President Trump manipulates his followers, about our damaged pool of genes. America is not Nazi Germany in 1938. I am alive because in 2014, I was treated on emergency basis by three doctors and a surgeon at a local hospital for a severe pulmonary embolism. Each person a different nationality and background; I am alive today because of the team of doctors who were on call that weekend. I am grateful.

What has happened to gratitude in America? We continue to hear the drum beat to make America great again. Instead of bashing America, let’s all take a moment to reflect on our personal history with America. What country origin are you from? What generation are you? I am first-generation American. Why did your family want to immigrate to America? How has your family contributed to the American dream? My family (including my former husband’s family) contributed, soldiers, navy sailors, laborers, lawyers, teachers, bankers, therapists, nurses, counselors/therapists, business professionals and a United States Senator.

I have watched Congress argue over mundane issues year after year. It is time to get back to compromise and problem-solving serious issues, like, cancer, global warming and education for all. I am stunned that we allow constant lies to be broadcast over the networks and radio stations. Very few are demanding that this nonsense stop!

I am saddened that many in the United States still do not understand the damage that Project 2025 will do to Democracy. This year’s election is not about personality or payback, but about the truth. Do we save Democracy or let it die. It’s up the voters. I pray voters will have their votes counted correctly. There is no room for error.
