Voices of Hope Community Chorus supports ALAS-WINGS with $1,200 donation
Voices of Hope Community Chorus, a local nonaudition chorus dedicated to supporting the breast cancer community, is proud to announce a charitable donation of $1,200 to ALAS-WINGS, a Chicago-based organization that empowers Hispanic/Latina women and their families who are affected by breast cancer.
The donation is based on a portion of Voices of Hope’s concert proceedings and is the first such gift the chorus has made since its founding a year ago. The chorus’s singers created the group to bring the power of music and community to those affected by breast cancer.
ALAS-WINGS provides a wide range of free programs, including breast cancer education, virtual support groups, mental health services and personalized face-to-face support for women at every stage of their breast cancer journey. The organization’s mission of supporting underrepresented communities aligns with Voices of Hope’s commitment to making a difference through music.
In November, the Voices of Hope Community Chorus will present two concerts titled, “The Great Ones: A Celebration of American Songwriting,” showcasing classic works by iconic American songwriters such as George and Ira Gershwin, Stevie Wonder and Carole King. These performances will offer a unique opportunity to experience music’s power to unite communities while supporting an important cause.

• Saturday, Nov. 9: 7:30 p.m., at Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm St. Glenview.
