NAK4 Orthodontics Introduces Groundbreaking Technology To Chicagoland

NAK4 Orthodontics, the Chicagoland leader in braces and Invisalign, now offers the first-of-its-kind Invisalign Palatal Expander or “IPE.”

“Invisalign partnered with our practice to complete several cases and found this to be a game changer for orthodontics” says Dr. Bryan Nakfoor, board-certified orthodontist and owner of NAK4 Orthodontics. “While traditional metal expanders are extremely effective, this new product will give an additional option to our parents and patients for palatal expansion.”

HOW DOES IT WORK

Each 3D-printed device is customized to the patient based on an iTero™ digital scan done in office during a complimentary consultation. The expanders cover the roof of the mouth and connect to buttons placed on the back teeth. The expanders are changed nightly and move the upper arch in small increments to expand. Unlike Invisalign aligners that needs to be removed while eating, the expanders are designed to be worn full time which includes eating and drinking. Patients still have the option of doing either Invisalign or braces to align their teeth once the expansion has been achieved.

Because of its design, the IPE can be a practical solution for younger patients especially, whose teeth may be too small to support a traditional expander.

“Our goal has always been to design customized treatment plans for every patient we see, based on their specific issue, comfort, age and situation. We are excited to be at the forefront of this new technology, and offer yet another solution in individualized care.”

Nak4 Orthodontics offers a full array of orthodontic services, including braces and Invisalign, as well as early interceptive treatments for issues that can emerge in young children. But they treat smiles of all ages. Their state-of-the-art practice offers complimentary consultations in each of their three locations - Arlington Heights, Park Ridge and Barrington - with the option to start treatment the same day.
