Lavelle Law prepares for annual Food Drive benefiting the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry

Each year, it becomes more challenging for the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry to meet the needs of the community. Inflation and the rising cost of groceries and rent have pushed more families to rely on the services the food pantry provides. The pantry currently serves more than 1,100 families per month. The demand has grown substantially since 2022.

To address the needs of its community, Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law is preparing to host its annual food drive, benefiting the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry. The food drive will run through Oct. 25 and there are many ways individuals and businesses can contribute.

“We have a long history of supporting the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry as they work to provide food, dignity, and hope to our community,” said Lavelle Law Managing Partner Ted McGinn. “The needs of our neighbors are greater than ever before and we’re calling on those who can help to step up and create positive change in the community.”

Lavelle Law has set up collection boxes around Schaumburg and the surrounding area. Local residents and workers can drop nonperishable food items, paper goods, personal care items, baby food, and diapers into the boxes during regular business hours at establishments listed below. Cash donations can be made online.

The three-and-a-half-week event runs much longer than most food drives and makes participation easy with more than a dozen drop-off locations. The annual campaign also enlists the help of generous corporate sponsors including Tony’s Fresh Market, Clearwater Capital Partners, Norman Mechanical, Tenant Advisors, and Kleen Air Service Corporation.

“We have been hosting this event for a long time, and each year the community astounds us with their kindness and generosity,” McGinn said. “We know this year will be no different. And we can’t wait to see the impact we can make when we come together as a community to support our friends and neighbors.”

All items will be collected by Lavelle Law employees and dropped at the food pantry when the event concludes.
