Wheaton to support People’s Resource Center with winter coat drive

The Wheaton Community Relations Commission is leading a winter coat and gear drive for the People’s Resource Center, a nonprofit organization that helps families in need with food, clothing and other programs.

The collection drive runs throughout October as part of the commission’s annual Wheaton Gives Back program.

The commission has teamed up with the Downtown Wheaton Association, the Wheaton Park District and other sites to collect new and gently used winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens for the People’s Resource Center. Last year, the drive collected more than 2,000 pieces of winter coats and accessories.

Collection box locations include Egg Harbor Café, Images Med Spa, London Skye, M&Co. Salon, Miroballi Shoes, Model Act Studios, Murphy Financial Group, NEXT Yoga, The Protein Spot, Tasting deVine, Wheaton City Hall and the Wheaton Public Library, plus the Wheaton Park District’s Central Athletic Complex and Wheaton Community Center.
