RetroDomestic brings retro flair to Lisle

RetroDomestic has come to Maison Russe with a brilliant mix of antique, vintage, and retro wares.

MCM, Boho, Global, Glam, Industrial, Primitive, etc. … it’s all covered in the wide array of home decor now offered in the shop, including small furniture, artworks, and collectibles.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, it will be the grand reopening of the family owned and operated business at 1720 Ogden Ave. in Lisle, since 1976.

Nearly 10 years ago, Barbara Shukin started RetroDomestic at antique and vintage markets, such as Kane County, the Elkhorn Antique Fleamarket, Second Sunday in Bloomington, various Zurko events (the Wheaton All-Nighter, in particular), and the Shipshewana Fleamarket in Indiana.

Several years ago she set up a permanent building in Shipshewana — Maison Russe is her second permanent location. She still travels to Elkhorn with trailer in tow and you might find her at other weekend antique and vintage events.
