League of Women Voters of AH-MP-BG areas and Arlington Heights Memorial Library to sponsor Oct. 6 Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters of Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Prospect Heights and Elk Grove Village announces Candidate Forums for the Illinois House of Representatives Districts 53 and 54 and the Illinois Senate District 27 races in the upcoming Nov. 5, 2024, election. The three forums are scheduled from 1-4:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6.

The forums are presented in partnership with, and will be held at, the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights.

The first forum of the day starts at 1 p.m., with participating candidates for Illinois House of Representatives District 53 Ronald Andermann (R) and Nicolle Grasse (D). The second forum starts at 2:15 p.m., with participating candidates for Illinois Senate District 27 Thomas Schlenhardt (R) and Mark Walker (D). The final forum of the day starts at 3:30 p.m., with participating candidates for Illinois House of Representatives District 54 Mary Beth Canty (D) and Michele Hunter (R).

Founded more than 100 years ago, the League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy, and it does not support or oppose any political parties or candidates. It sponsors these events as a service to the communities.
