Glenview event to raise Lewy Body Dementia research funding Oct. 16

An Oct. 16 evening of laughter, raising awareness and community will raise funds for Lewy Body Dementia, which affects 1.4 million in the U.S., at The Glen Club, 2901 W. Lake Ave. in Glenview.

The third annual benefit from the Robert H Levine Foundation raises awareness of Lewy Body Dementia and supports investments in research to recognize and treat the disease.

Lewy Body Dementia, which affected the comedian Robin Williams, is the second most common form of degenerative dementia, according to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. The Robert H Levine Foundation honors the memory of its namesake, a longtime North Shore resident who died from Lewy Body Dementia in 2022.

The evening begins with an open bar at 6 p.m. and will be emceed by Chicago writer and comedian Patti Vasquez. The event also will feature a moving keynote address from Dr. Jori Fleisher, a movement disorders neurologist who leads the Rush Advanced Interdisciplinary Movement Disorders Supportive Care (AIMS) Clinic, Lewy Body Dementia Association Research Center of Excellence, CurePSP Center of Care, and codirects the Rush Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence.

More than a dozen Glenview- and Northbrook-area community businesses listed below contributed wonderful raffle prizes that will be drawn at the event, though there’s no need to be present to win. Even more prizes will be added to the raffle at the Oct. 16 annual benefit.
