Wheaton’s Gary UMC welcomes author Philip Yancey on Oct. 4

Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton, is hosting author Philip Yancey to talk about his new book, “What Went Wrong? Russia’s Lost Opportunity and the Path to Ukraine,” at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4.

Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine has caused humanitarian and religious crises. Yancey has found that religion plays a decisive role, both in motivating Russia’s aggression and in fueling the responses of Ukrainian believers.

He has spent years observing the religious dynamics in the region, and the church invites the public to connect with Yancey as he shares from his new book. Register for this free event at garychurch.org/registrations.
