Meet the new director of Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley at Sept. 14 open house

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley invites the community to an open house to meet the new executive director, Rebecca Eller-Molitas, on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Stop by the Carnegie Community Room between 2 and 3:30 p.m. at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave. She was appointed to the position of executive director effective May 1, 2024.

Eller-Molitas has over 15 years of experience in adult education and literacy. Most recently, she worked as an adult education consultant with New Readers Press. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at Elgin Community College. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Wayne State University, along with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Northern Illinois University.

This informal drop-in event is an opportunity for the community to meet Rebecca and for her to get to know our volunteer tutors and community partners. Light refreshments will be served.

In addition, this event will serve as the kickoff for the annual, virtual “Trek for Literacy: Walk, Run, or Bike” event. Walk, run, or bike solo or join a team between Sept. 14 and Oct. 14. Log your distance online or track progress using a fitness device, and watch your avatar travel around the virtual race route. First prize is $150 gift card.
