Rust-Oleum yard sale Tuesday to benefit veterans

Rust-Oleum Corporation is hosting its first yard sale open to the public from 12 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.

The cash-only event will be held in the parking lot at the company headquarters, 102 E. Hawthorn Parkway in Vernon Hills.

Nearly 100 items including tables, chairs, dressers, and cabinets will be on display and for sale. Wall art, decorations and items for kids also will be available and DIY experts will demonstrate simple tips for turning secondhand finds into statement pieces.

Rust-Oleum will “spray it forward” by donating proceeds from this one-day event to the Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation with an up to $5,000 match from Rust-Oleum Cares. All items not sold will be donated to charities that provide home furnishings for those in need.
