Barbecue fans line up for their faves at Little Bear Ribfest
Little Bear Ribfest had barely gotten started Friday evening when lines already were forming at restaurant booths and the smell of barbecue was wafting through the air at Century Park in Vernon Hills.
In addition to ribs, hungry visitors could also nosh on beef brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and corn on the cob.
Lee Ward, owner of Mundelein’s Smokin BBQ on 45, said one of the reasons the restaurant participates in events like Little Bear Ribfest is to let people know they're “there.” He said the restaurant gets lots of return customers from Vernon Hills.
“We love it. We enjoy it. This is our fourth year here,” Ward said.
