The Theater Lab announces cast for ‘The Crucible,’ closing production of 2023-24 season

The Theater Lab announced its second production of the 2023-24 season, “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller. The production will be a limited four-performance run, Aug. 16-18, at the Forest View Educational Center Theater in Arlington Heights.

“The Crucible“ tells a story of teen girls running around their village blaming others of witchcraft, causing stress and havoc in the village. Not only does the play shine a light on the historic Salem Witch Trials, but also includes themes relating to the Red Scare and McCarthyism, dating back to World War II. The play is a timeless rendition of the flaws of today’s society — the merge of fact and fiction, lost sense of reason and no concept of justice.

“The Crucible” will leave you questioning who was really performing the witchcraft all along.

The cast of “The Crucible” features (in alphabetical order): Hugo Balta (Rev. John Hale), Bob Boyd (Judge Hathorne), Brendan Chapman (John Willard), Jaime Churchill (Rebecca Nurse), Karen Ann Cullotta (Sarah Good), Caryl Davidson (Francis Nurse), Helena Renee Dawson

(Girls Chorus), Jamison Gossen (Mary Warren/Girls Chorus), Egor J Gribbet (Giles Corey), Sarah Jane “SJ” Heyman (Susanna Walcott/Girls Chorus), Nora Mary Hubert (Abigail Williams/Girls Chorus), Emylie Johnson (Girls Chorus), Hunter Johnson (John Proctor), Jamese Kane (Tituba), McKenna Marie (Mrs. Ann Putnam), Anna Merrigan (Betty Parris/Girls Chorus), Nancy Morrison (Thomas Putnam), Carly Mulert (Elizabeth Proctor), Christopher T. Pantelis (Ezekiel Cheever), Olivia Ringelstein (Abigail Williams/Girls Chorus), Lane Wheeler (Reverend Samuel Parris), Kaylee Williams (Deputy-Governor Danforth), and Maya Zimmer (Mercy Lewis/Girls Chorus).

The creative team includes John Meyers (artistic and production director), Patrick Zielinski (producer), Chris Good (production and stage manager), Teresa J. Arnold (marketing director), Nancy Morrison and Teresa J. Arnold (properties managers), Michael Incardone (sound designer), Emerson Ford (costume assistant), Nicholas Wroblewski (lighting assistant), Martha Luca and Maya Widyna (marketing assistants), and Shiko Bobiles (graphic design assistant).
